HUNTER EDUCATION CARD IS NOT REQUIRED TO ATTEND!
Youths ages 8-17 are invited to learn how to safely and successfully hunt turkeys through this hunter education program sponsored by Oregon Hunters Association and the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife.
Youth will learn: turkey vocabulary and calling techniques. Learn with a variety of calls and learn how to make basic calls for a successful hunt. Learn the tricks, tips and strategies you need to know to become a successful turkey hunter. Learn turkey identification, behavior, scouting techniques, turkey sign identification and how to locate turkeys in the woods. Youth will participate in a hands on session on how to pattern your shotgun, establish effective ranges and hold your gun as the big tom approaches. Sign in starts at 7:30am on day of event, activities begin @ 8:45am
Directions to register for event:
Select the below link to register, youth will need to use their hunter/angler ID with ODFW. If they do not have a hunter/angler ID, pull down the menu that shows hunter/angler ID and select new customer than create new account. If already have hunter/angler ID enter this, last name and date of birth. Next select the green button register for a class, next select the outdoor skills tab in green, then select the youth turkey clinic, and proceed to check-out.
