Learn to Fish – Family Basic Trout Fishing

Bring your family down to the Mt. Hood Community College, fish Mount Hood Pond and learn the basic techniques to catch trout in Oregon. These basic techniques can be used in lakes, rivers, and streams throughout Oregon. We’ll take you through how to read the regulations, what equipment you need, how to tie the basic knots, and some basic tackle options. You will be given a free fishing rod and some basic tackle to take home with. Lunch will be provided.

You will be fishing at this event and will need a fishing license.

Location: Mount Hood Community College, 26000 SE Stark St, Greshem, OR 97030

Time: 8am – 4pm

Registration Cost: Adult $52.00; Youth $22.00

License Cost: Adult Annual license: $38 or Adult One Day angling license $19

                         Youth Angling license: (12-17 years old) includes Angling, Hunting, Shellfish and Columbia River Basin Endorsement) $10

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received two weeks (14 days) prior to any workshop will receive a full refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than two weeks prior to a workshop. You may however, send a substitute participant in your place.

In your cancellation, please state which workshop you will not be attending, your name, and a phone number in case we have questions. If you intend to send a substitute participant in your place, please give us their name and phone number/e-mail so that we can send them the required paperwork.
